Given market circumstances, we could never afford specializing in a specific industry sector. Over the past two decades we have been working on recruitment assignments in probably almost all business fields. The common denominators have been the positions searched for and recruited: top management, first line management (n-1), niche positions (positions that are not necessarily at management level, but highly specialized and more likely to be found through direct search).
Looking back to my roots in Executive Search, 1994, I remember the numerous recruitment assignments on behalf of international Fast Moving Consumer Goods companies starting at that point in time their operations in Romania. Mobile operators followed soon after. 1994-2000 have probably been the most active recruitment years in Romania: several management teams have been built up and consolidated.
Later on we followed the market developments and trends, heavily recruiting in a variety of new business fields: industrial & manufacturing, automotive, construction materials, banking & financial services, retail, etc.
Romania, in its emerging years, has offered the chance for Executive Search consultants to access an unparalleled diversity of industries and positions.
I have been however a Practice Leader within the Executive Search chains I have been part of, having led FMCG practices and Healthcare practices with either local, regional (Central and Eastern Europe) or international reach. I have been Key Account Manager for the Executive Search & consulting assignments of several multinational companies from different industry fields. At the same time, throughout all these years, I have acted as a Key Account Manager for German-speaking companies in Romania and CEE.
